Stuck

I don't know about in your house, but things seem to happen here when the kids borrow from each other.  It seems to inspire an extra dose of creativity and a desire to try things out.  Afterall, it's not their stuff that is getting wrecked in the process.  This doesn't always inspire brotherly (or sisterly) love, but it does provide a lot of practice in other relationship mending exercises... and hopefully, other lessons are learned.

My young daughter handed me a water bottle and asked if I could wash it.  "Can you get the gum out that's stuck in it?"  She had borrowed the water bottle from her brother, and it had been left in the van for a long while. (That's where things go to get lost and decompose.  Oh, is that just my van?)  The gum was stuck inside the straw of the water bottle and sort of melted there.  Nope.  That union was complete and shall last forevermore.  The water bottle is done!

It reminded me of the time she was playing with her sister's snorkel and got an animal cracker stuck in it!

Someday, this creativity and determination will come in handy!  For now, it's a little more work, but we do get some laughs (after the fact, anyway).
